Stacey Horowitz on Helping Artisans and Their Communities
Women Worldwide with host Deirdre Breakenridge welcomes Stacey Horowitz to the show. Stacey is the founder and president of Shopping for a Change®, which was established to create an extended global marketplace for fair trade products by artisans, artisan co-ops, and companies that employ these artisans, predominantly women, from economically disadvantaged areas throughout the world. As Stacey approached age 50, she felt a stronger need than ever to make a difference in the world, and wanted to do so on a global scale.
A little more about Stacey Horowitz … Stacey is a talented multi-media artist specializing in commissioned paintings and jewelry. Her extensive background encompasses years in the creative and promotional departments of advertising agencies (clients included Electronic Arts, Jessica McClintock, and Sun Microsystems); and in the wholesale consumer products industries as a manufacturer’s representative (Olga Lingerie, Birkenstock, and Aveda).
